| Recent Review: | | On the outside this is a nice looking place..But the leasing office has nothing else better to do than total invasion of privacy, I've only lived here since april-04, and I'm counting the days till my lease is up.I've been there 6 months, and constantly they are having to enter the apt, for simple stupid inspections which all could be done on a annual entrance 1 time. Maybe they should lay off some of the office staff and maint staff who have nothing to do but annoy and snoop through apartments... If you don't mind intrusion, fine, but I value my privacy...The walls are paper thin, and way to many kids with no place to play, they allow to many kids per apartments but only 2 animals. All I can say is this place SUCKS. |

| Recent Review: | | I lived here for 2 yrs. & had problems w/the plumbing in the kitchen & the bathroom-(these apts. are over 25 yrs. old & I did not cause these problems!) I was also without hot water many, many, many times. The noise was my biggest issue! The kids run around, scream & destroy the grounds constantly & if you live in a downstairs apt., don't expect any peace & quiet! I think they forgot to insulate between the upstairs & downstairs apts.! So, if you live upstairs & have children, then I guess this place could be o.k. |

| Recent Review: | | We were enticed by Serena Vista while looking for a new apartment experience after a horrible previous one, which just happened to be the apartment complex next door. The management team at Serena Vista was offering a good deal to those tenants who wished to relocate from the neighboring apartment complex. We were able to sign a 1 year lease and management was fully aware that my wife ran a licensed home-daycare out of our current apartment and did not say anything about that being a problem. We give notice to our current apartment management, went to move in 30 days later and when we went to sign the contract, discovered that home-daycares were not permitted to be run in their complex (even though it is illegal to prohibit per Calif. Law).So we moved in.Over the course of our 1st year there, several service requests (broken kitchen faucet, faulty toilet, ROACHES, BLACK MOLD, etc.) took several attempts prior to getting the matters responded to and then once someone from maintenance responded, it took 2-3 attempts before the problems were corrected.Parking is very limited and therefore tenants and guests park wherever they please (blocking other carports, in fire lanes, etc.).And when complaints are lodged the response is that security will be called, but they never respond. The same goes for noise complaints.I called Serena Vista's so-called security personnel several times due to noisy neighbors and I was in turn told to call Fountain Valley Police to respond instead of them coming out to do what they are paid for. This too was relayed to Serena Vista's management.Furthermore; two months after we moved in (June-2002), the pool was closed down for over a year for renovations with no accomodations made for tenants.Additionally, management never said anything to my wife or I about the home-daycare, but called Fountain Valley Police and DCFS with complaints that the children in her care were left to run around the complex unsupervised (which was completely un-true).Next thing we know, our 1st year is up and we are asked to renew our lease, but were only permitted to renew a 6 month lease. Then on January 30, 2004, we were served with a 60-Notice to Vacate the premises, stating that Serena Vista would not wish to renew our lease. We have never been late on the rent and we have received no complaints from management for a single thing in the 1.5 years that we have been tenants, so who knows why we are being asked to leave.Unfortunately, under Calif. Tenant Laws, landlords don't have to provide tenants with a reason. In closing, the complex has received a new facelift, but beauty is only skin deep.Let the buyer beware before they rent here! |
