| Recent Review: | | I have a Jr. 1bdrm and I really like the unit itself. It has big windows and the layout disguises the fact that it's basically a big studio apartment. The partition makes a big difference.I have a huge walk-in closet which is a big plus.Kitchen and bathroom are pretty old and the kitchen is a bit cramped. Have also had a pretty bad patio door from day one but the patio itself is nice and big!I'm on the first floor where the patios are bigger.I WISH I had a dishwasher and in-unit laundry but you get what you pay for.I will say that the laundry is pretty expensive and their dryers don't work well. This is ironic considering they just upgraded the washers and dryers and I was pretty giddy about it.Expect to have to dry twice if you've got jeans or a towel in there. Like the laundry card instead of coin operation but one wash and two runs in the dryer will end up costing almost four bucks.Doesn't have a security patrol and opens onto the street.Seen a few shady characters around but nothing too bad.Although I think the location is fantastic, the immediate area is run down. The parking is a problem. My spot is far from my unit and management won't adjust for it because each unit is tied to a parking space. You might get lucky and get an apartment with a spot close to you.Hardly any visitor parking.Visitors will likely have to park on the street. The management and the maintenance staff are pretty uptight. As people they're great to interact with but I find a lot of the rules pretty restricting and not obviously beneficial. Some examples are as follows. You can't reverse park into your space and will get a letter every time you do.Visitors are not allowed to use the facilities without a resident present.I find this to be quite an issue as I have had out-of-town visitors and they want to relax "California style" or use the treadmill while I'm at work but one of the staff literally made my friend leave in quite a humiliating fashion. The office does not have consistent hours, especially if they're full and not looking for new tenants. This is very inconvenient if you're an online shopper.I have had to get my packages from the shipping company numerous times.I also got locked out of my apartment and the staff was quite irritated and I was told it would cost me $50 to be let back in.The next day I was also called and told again that under no circumstances should I expect to be let into my apartment without paying.I had thought that one person firmly stating "You made a mistake and we're going to charge you $50 for it" was enough but apparently it takes two to really drive home what a disappointment you are to the complex. The maintenance staff is reasonable at getting things fixed.Sometimes they're great and other times it takes longer. They have only forgotten to execute a work order once.Noise is bad for my apartment but that has nothing to do with the complex. The guy above me is an insomniac (or a night dweller) that loves to walk around and make lots of noise. One day I'll politely tell him he would likely be more productive if he conformed to society's expectations of sleep hours and he'll probably tell me to stick it where the sun don't shine.Until that day I'll just silently stew.Overall... I really like the unit and the short driving distance to great places to hang out.I definitely don't like the bureaucratic rules of the complex and I don't feel like I'm a part of a community or that the managment cares about me beyond a rent check.Recommend it for people who want to save some money and are more comfortable with restrictions. As for my poor apartment's battle, I'll let you know who wins... |

| Recent Review: | | I have lived in these apartments, formerly called "Aloha Apartments" since 1995.When I first moved in, a large number of the tenants were senior citizens, and although I was 33 at the time, I really felt comfortable with the place. There were a few people in my age range who became my friends, but eventually, they all moved out.Over the last ten years, the seniors have either passed away or moved out, and now the apartment manager rents to anyone with a pulse.I live in a studio apartment, and they are moving couples in these studios, as well as single mothers with a children!!My biggest gripe with this place now is that there are a lot of single, young people who play their music too loud, stand outside in the parking lot next to their cars and have endless conversations, or neighbors who basically have no regard for other tenants in this building. The walls are very thin, and even with your door and windows closed, you here EVERYTHING!!I know I'm coming across as an old grump, but I would like to have decent mature people living around me, and that is no longer the case. It's definitely time to move... |

| Recent Review: | | In general, the apartments were not bad. I, however, would not suffer my own worst enemy nor best friend to the lady is the live in manager. Parking: for tenents only; nothing extra. Grounds: could be better, but clean. Maintenance: not timely, not always done on the first try. Noise: agreeable, given that the walls are a little thin and you are next to Hwy 17. Overall: I would have renewed the lease if the old manager was still there. Being of the customer service profession I tend to have standards for attitude, knowledge (of tenet/ landlord laws, rights and responsibilities), HONESTY, etc. |

| Recent Review: | | This lovely 18-unit apartment is a wonderful place to live. The grounds are well-kept; there are shade trees and flowers and ivy growing. The ground floor apartments have fenced-in yards; the upstairs apartments have balconies. The grounds are spotlessly maintained. The manager, Teri Szabadi, lives on-site and is right on top of everything, keeps everything running smoothly and is helpful at all times. The tenants are friendly and courteous to each other; we respect one another's space. |
